'Kill Bill: Vol 1'

The first 42 seconds shows the three men hammering the woman in the coffin. At the same time it playing disturbing slow whistling pan pipe music, which is very western style, the whole set is all very western, with the male characters dresses in cowboy hats and she is wearing cowboy boots.

The hammering starts to speed up when you can see only a slight gap left to close; this is when you can hear the woman groaning and breathing heavily. the volume on the last nail has been altered and made lounder to create a scared effect for the audience.

At 43 seconds the pan pipe music stops and allows you to hear the back ground sounds, like a dog barking. At this point you can hear the men shoveling mud on her coffin, this creates a scratchy sound caused by the gravel and shovel. This made the audience concentrate because its a big build up, this is an interesting a scene because it isnt usual for Hollywood films to have a blanc screen for such a long period which could have made it quite risky.
