What kind of media institution might distribute your media product?
The opening
sequence is made for an apocalypse film, about a man who is inside a room in a
tent which various different strings and cans attached to it, at the end of the
opening scene the man leaves the tent and follows one of the strings with a
bell on it which is ringing which leads to a door this is meant to make you
think that there is an enemy or someone/thing outside the room who is trying to
get him.
Our
thriller is a low concept but because of the many special effects that would be
used throughout the film it would make it a high budget film because of the
expense of them.
Our
thriller would do well with a production company such as DNA films, this is
because they have produced well known films such as 127 hours, Slum dog
Millionaire and 28 days later- which is a lot like our thriller. The company
has worked with well-known producers like Danny Boyle who produced 28 days
later. A Production company as well known, as DNA films would benefit on our
thriller because it would bring it would publicize the film a lot especially in
other countries.
Another
potential company that could produce our thriller would be Warner Bros this is
because they have also produced films which are similar to ours such as
inception, I am legend, dark knight rises are many others. Having Warner Bros
produce our films would be the best as it is so well known and therefore we
would get a lot of views and publicity.
Spider man
opening sequence is also similar to our opening sequence because they have the
screen cut up by close up shots of the spider web, this reminds me a lot of our
string opening credit parts. It is directed by Kyle Cooper who we have studied
before and as we found out is an extremely well know director.
28 Days
Later had a budget of 6 million, which I feel would be an suitable budget for
our thriller too. If we had a budget from a film from Warner Bros we would
benefit from it a lot because our special effects would be even better and
therefore more entertaining to watch, because it is an apocalypse film it would
need to specialize in the special effects side to make it realistic and worth
watching, this is why it would benefit with a higher budget like I Am Ledgend’s
budget which was 150 million, but comparing the two films our concept is much
lower to I Am Legends and therefore our budget would be suitable with 6
millions like 28 Days Later.
We also
looked in to other productions such as Vertigo which we know a lot about to but
we decided as a group that DNA films is more well known than Vertigo and
therefore it would be an advantage using a production company that I well known
that we know would get us the amount of views that our thriller needs.
